There are few things more rewarding then finally accomplishing a goal you've had for months. I knew that there had to be ways to process an RSS feed, iron out the invalid parts, and produce a valid feed from the horrible broken one.

I'm still not entirely pleased with the effort, but very nearly. I neatly commented my code (for a change) and intend to investigate ways to let other people use my script to repair their own broken feeds (all munged by the same ill-planned system). For now I'm content with refactoring existing code and grinning that I finally got it done. Amazing what you can do with some well-placed preg_replace!
