ahead of the game

My classwork is done twenty hours in advance. I feel damned good about that.

pained

I fucking hurt. The spot just behind my left hip has been mildly achey for weeks now, but yesterday I woke up in screaming pain. I cried in the shower, popped some painkillers, and tried to ignore the fact that the pain was not in fact killed. At most it was roughed up a little.

I feel a little better today, but it's not nearly enough.

Gay Rights

This is a brief LJ meme, but I'd like to see if it picks up on Tabulas as well.

realization

It's realized, with a z. It's realized, with a z. It's realized, with a z...

Dammit.

I am dead certain that I very final thing I did this time was to run the story through spellcheck until it no errors were found. I went to submit the assignment, thought twice, and ran spellcheck again, just to make sure. Word has been letting errors (or rather, Anglicisms) through without comment.

Is there a way to eviscerate software, I wonder? Because I'd dearly love to try.

new friend

I went for an insanely long walk the other day and a lovely orange cat made me his bitch. He loudly insisted that I would hug him and love him and squeeze him and call him George. So I did. He followed me almost all the way home too.

I haven't belonged to a cat for years and I miss it a lot, so it felt great to share some scritchies with a happy kitty, even though he clearly belonged to somebody else.

walkies

I went for a very long walk yesterday. By "very long," I mean I walked out the door at six and straggled back in, footsore and hungry, sometime after nine. To be fair, some of that time was spent was spent playing with a kitty, but most of it was spent walking back home. I ended up taking the long route because the furry wonder wouldn't stop following me and the highway traffic was freaking him out. So I took a side road. Then some farm dogs managed to tree the cat and I had to help him down, figuring that the dogs wouldn't bother me (and they didn't) but they might harass the cat if he got down later.

And when I finally arrived back home, I got to finish my classwork! *falls down dead of fatigue* Everything got submitted in timely fashion regardless. The current week's work isn't ready yet, so I have break and have been running around the intarwebs, trying to get caught up. So far I'm doing well.

I still hurt all freaking over. I'm pretty sure I dehydrated myself in my sudden burst of physical activity, so I've been chugging water whenever it crosses my mind. It seems to help a little. The Aleve, meanwhile, helps a lot.

Should I state again that I'm not one for common sense, or does it go unspoken by now? I'm never sure.

mix it up

I really love putting my playlist on random. I've been busily ripping my CDs to MP3 so I can have a cracking good playlist. At the moment, the next songs up, in order, are anonymous Christian alt-rock, Rocky Horror, George Strait, and the Ramones. This fits my definition of "yay."

fine dining

Usually I fix meals in a hurry and scarf them down. Today I realised I had plenty of time, so I made myself a well-rounded meal (with a salad and everything!) and ate at a leisurely pace while listening to music. It was quite relaxing.

nameless

Apparently there are 0 people with my last name in the United States. I knew it was rare, but that's a bit extreme!

(And if the site's team doesn't want me laughing at a message that means my name isn't the database, then they should damn well fix their system to say what they mean!)

Vader of the Opera

I... bzuh? *brain dies*

go dye

Heh heh heh. I have Halloween hair dye. Me being me, it is bright red hair dye. (I'm so one note.) I haven't even used it yet, but it already makes me the kind of happy that involves many grins of mischief and a couple evil chuckles.

luscious locks

My hair, now expertly trimmed, looks more fabulous than ever.

you best recognise

Oh good. I had been able to identify everyone in this thread at a glance, but the latest addition broke my trend. I feel relieved and less nerdy now.

all that she wants

I helpd my mom clean her kitchen. We found an unexpected windfall: a small cooler stuffed with cassette tapes I thought were long-gone! I must have collected them for a family trip and forgotten about it.

Happy Halloween!

"...I'm known to hang around the undead / You always see me comin' cuz I am RED..."

Have a Halloween, people, however you like it. Me, I'm going to dole out sweets to neighborkids while hoarding the best stuff for myself. Sugar bomb!
