CNN is crazy

Why in the name of goat cheese is this worthy of CNN coverage?

I don't go looking for this crap. When I check my school email, there's a list of recent CNN headlines that I can't remove. Argh!

injury-free

Look Ma, no injuries! Yesterday I didn't sustain any physical trauma at all. Yay, a new personal best!

A partial list of last week's damages:

  • Nosebleed right before bed (wouldn't have been so bad, except I'm on a prescription nasal spray...)
  • After shovelling snow: "That's weird, this fingertip is still blue. Really blue." Frost + snug Band-Aid = nip!
  • "The door jamb ate half my fingernail!"
  • The coup de grace: I fell down the stairs. Boy, did I! My elbow has a bright blue stripe down it; my left hip and knee haven't been the same since. I also managed to thwack the back of my head on every damn step. As it turns out, there is no good way to hold ice on an elbow bruise unless the bruise is on the tip of the joint, which mine isn't.

These are very minor (with the exception of the Stairwell of Doom). But because of my sinus problems, I have to sleep on my side, the same side every night. That is of course the side that is purple-spotted from my trumble, not the side with just a touch of rugburn from the same event. Sleeping in a different position would prolong my sinus problems.

Le sigh. I shall soldier on somehow.

bad ISP

My ISP is experiencing technical difficulties. One difficulty is that I can no longer access any of Tabulas at home (I'm typing this at a friend's).

Also my school webmail is inaccessible. Yay.

Please stand by for further ISP complaints.

better day

Ahem.

EEEEEEEE! I has me Tabulas back, with its Radio.Blogs and galleries and of course journals. Wahoo! (School email and some other sites are still inaccessible. Looks like I'll borrow ten minutes on a neighbor's computer again -- and the number of their ISP.)

Also I figured out how to make myself actually use my new laptop, instead of glaring at it for not being exactly like my broken old one: Opera widgets, specifically SimAquarium. It sounds impossibly dorky but this sim is deeply addictive. I'm not even a fish person (I tend to prefer furred pets), but now I'm sitting here saying, "So pretty! Wow. I should totally get a betta and some water plants."

Now I have to go breed some ram cichlids. They're shiny!
