bad weather

Gotta make this quick, storm's coming back for round 2 or 10, I forget. Thunderstorms and tornados here in South Dakota and surrounding area. A town in Kansas is totally levelled. A tourist place my mom knew in Nebraska is completely gone. A tornado was spotted just about over my house but must not have touched down. Me and mine are fine far as I know, don't worry. I am updating my Twitter account from my mobile phone; I can't update Tabulas through SMS or email so Twitter is it until storms subside -- maybe Wednesday. Daren't leave the cable modem plugged in any longer than needed to check school and weather now so must be going.
Sorry for stream of consciousness but time is sharply limited. Back when I can.

Opera widgets gone bad

I am sick of Google not giving me answers.
My fellow Opera users, have you had this problem? I upgraded from Opera 9.10 to 9.20 and immediately my widgets hurt my eyes. Where widgets used to use Opera's font smoothing, it appears they now don't. I want my font smoothing back and I am willing to kill baby animals to get it. Or edit opera6.ini. You know, whichever.
I am on Windows XP, hardly an exotic platform, so I can't be the only Opera user who noticed this. Googling has told me that Opera for Mac now uses native Mac font anti-aliasing, which doesn't help me the tiniest bit. If there's no way to make Opera 9.20 smooth fonts in widgets, I intend to downgrade to 9.10 and stay there (security bugs be damned) until this is fixed, or else force myself to suffer Firefox's idiosyncrasies.
Recommendations of better places to ask this question would also be happily accepted.

moving day

I helped my brother pack up house. He's staying with me for now; we'll see what develops later. Took two freaking days but we're done.
I'm not sure why I ache so much from this. The first day, I tried lifting more than I could sustain, but we took a day off in between and yesterday I was mostly just cleaning. Even so -- ow.
My summer class starts Tuesday, so I'm trying to wrap up my vegging out, but that didn't stop me from playing Lost Island of Alanna in one go. Forgot how irritating that final puzzle was, but a winner is me!
Probably should find some food before going sleepies. Yes.

LiveJournal is now suspending accounts that have "illegal interests" -- even if the account is for a fictional character and no illegal activity is taking place, and (I assume) even if the activity is illegal in the United States but legal other places. Way to go, LJ.
Heads up to anybody with an LJ, especially a character LJ. I've just spent time I couldn't really spare to remove character interests. I have a character based on a substance that is wholly illegal in the United States; poof goes her entire Interests block, and most of my others. Fantastic.
Word is they're also going to look for userpic keywords, but oh my sweet Dave I have to do non-stupid stuff sometime today.
(This still isn't going to crosspost to Xanga, is it? Argh. Stupid Intarwebz, wasting my time!)
