foundling

Had a bit of a jolt when I couldn't find some very precious personal files on my computer, stuff from years and years ago. Handled it fairly calmly and shortly after re-discovered the files. Whew.

update

I'm alive. There's a couple family difficulties going on -- nothing I have to deal with day-to-day, but oppressive all the same for happening concurrently. This on top of a most vexing deadline for class that is going to eat me alive and use my bones as toothpicks because gahhhh fail.

Not that I'm stressing. Ha.

bliss

The worst thing that happened today was... hm. Perhaps having to wash my rice cooker. There was a phone call of good news, an email extending a vexing deadline, and just so much joy. I hadn't been sleeping well lately, all turn and toss, but today I fell asleep in my chair and dozed for hours. I didn't even realise how much stress insomnia I was carrying until it dissipated.

There are still difficult things ahead, but they aren't here yet. I get to relax a spell before moving on to confront them. That is unspeakably wonderful, that pause to recoup.

tilted

My world has gone all tilty. Firefox told me it wanted to update itself, and it worked. Automatic update has not worked for my FF install since it first dumped it on this hard drive, but now it works. I don't know why or how, but abruptly it does.

I'm still waiting for Rod Serling to show up.

heard that

My hearing is not impaired. I don't require surgery. I won't need steroids either. Isn't that lovely?

to zombie or not to zombie

I am tired but unwilling to surrender to sleep just yet. Theory: I could stay awake by reading a zombie novel!

Sensible reaction: Um, no. Quota of zombie nightmares per person has been reached. Ever considering zombies as late-night reading material is probably proof that I really need to sleep.

But wait! If I realise that my temporary blockheadedness means I must slumber, then that fact that I realised that means I'm good till at least two. Right? ...Right?

Yeah, so I'm going to bed now. But in the morning, zombies!
